HIS EXCELLENCY RODRIGO “DIGONG” ROA DUTERTE ADDRESSED THE NATION LAST JULY 23:

Image result for rodrigo roa duterte

The State of the Nation Address (SONA) by our President His Exellency Rodrigo “Digong” Roa Duterte spoke about his achievements during his term was been unpredictable. It was not totally accepted by the masses on how he run the country. The way he administered and implement plans are not highly respected. Only one can convinced me is about the “OPERATION TOKHANG” wherein many drug pushers and users were captivated ang others were killed. It lessen the number the number of drug list.

That was quite sufficient but what questioned may people is there where many innocence and minors included in death lists. Why not capture them and put them under guidance counselling instead of running and killing them forwardly. They have a lot of good fortunes ahead. I considered and blamed the President and the law enforcers where I saw and heard these policemen were the “promoters” of this unmerciful killing.

Next thing is I’m not convinced of appointing new position in his government. Are they filled in those positions? Another one is many of them are traveling here and there using the peoples’ money instead of using that money for progress through employment here and not going to foreign countries and unknown for what will happen to them and their families.

Lastly a “FEDERAL” form of government which I think I dislikely much. I rather go with the present form of government, a “DEMOCRATIC” form of government wherein it is free to do everything and no violations of Human Rights. That’s what I noticed about the SONA of Mr. President and I disagree much in his reigning. The SONA is not as good as the previous SONA happened.

Healthy diet according to World Health Organization (WHO) helps protect against malnutrition in all its forms, as well as non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and cancer.

Image result for world health organization (who)
It means that healthy diet plays an important role in securing that we are free of any diseases and it also implies that observing a healthy diet will avoid us from malnutrition which is very common in some part of the world. It is important to take care of our health in order for us to maximize our skills and talents. Taking care of our health starts by creating a healthy diet plan and proper mind set. It all starts with making goals about having a healthy lifestyle and sticking to it.

There are now different types of diseases that are present everywhere and can easily catch by our bodies. We can protect ourselves from getting diseases by simply starting a healthier way of living which means equipping ourselves about the importance of eating right foods and avoiding those junk foods. Each of us is guilty of eating unhealthy foods, starting right now we should learn to control and choose wisely those foods we intake for our own sake. In the long run, we will be the one who will be benefited from eating healthy foods and choosing a healthy diet. Some of the healthiest food are apples, avocados, bananas, blueberries, oranges, strawberries or in general eating fruits and vegetables. Some really have a big problem when it comes to feeding themselves with vegetables like eggplant, okra, and ampalaya, these are some of the most nutritious vegetables available almost in every market. Make sure to eat clean foods which mean those veggies and fruits that are fresh and organic because fresh fruits and vegetables have more nutrients compared to those that are not organically cultivated and staled.

Healthy diet is not all about eating healthy foods but also about accompanying it with exercises. To achieve a perfect body and healthy mind we must also do some exercises like going regularly to the gym. Achieving a healthy body should not be expensive so if one can't afford a gym membership there's a lot of ways to stay in shape. We can simply exercise at the comfort of our homes like dancing, aerobics, zumba and even brisk walking and jogging outside. If school or offices is just a few blocks away from your home then its better to just walk aside from burning fats it is also economic. Being healthy is not hard today since there are alot of videos or tutorials available online which we can use and helpful like DIY gym equipments and using things that are available at home. There are also working out plans we can find to fitness sites and blogs. Not exercising is no longer an excuse since resources are almost in just a click.

Creating a healthy diet plan is useless without sticking to it. The hardest part about being a healthy person is sticking to what is planned. We are good in making an ideal plan but its hard to stick to it making it as a habit. The key to a healthy lifestyle is a healthy mindset and clear achievable goals.

Good nutrition is our first defence against disease and our source of energy to live and be active. Nutritional problems caused by an inadequate diet can be of many sorts, and when they affect a generation of youngsters, they can lower their learning capacities, thus compromising their futures, perpetuating a generational cycle of poverty and malnutrition, with severe consequences on both individuals and nations. While young children are the most vulnerable to malnutrition, the right to adequate food is universal and good nutrition is essential for all. Problems of malnutrition –undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies and obesity – exist in all countries and cut across socio-economic classes.

Emerging challenges, such as climate change, environmental sustainability and rapid technological shifts, are transforming food systems and raising questions about how to feed a growing world population in sustainable ways.
At the same time, uneven economic growth, social and economic transformations and other factors are shaping food systems and diets. As a result, the prevalence of overweight, obesity and related non-communicable diseases are increasing while under nutrition and micronutrient deficiencies persist.

As the theme says FARMING IS THE WAY TO HARVEST GOOD NUTRITION. It says that we should plant vegetables and fruits for a good nutrition. It also tells that we should be more often eat healthy foods than the canned goods or processed foods that wold often caused diseases like cancer, diabetes, kidney failure, liver failure and others. So plant a exact nutrition with your heart for more crops, So that we can eat more nutrition foods and we can also save our earth to plant a trees to prevent flood in certain area. You must better to plant with care to get a great nutrition foods so that we can eat also clean and neat nutritional foods.

LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES

August 2, 2018
Poblacion, Sta. Catalina,
Province of Ilocos Sur

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte
Malacañang Palace Compound
J. P. Laurel St., San Miguel, Manila
Philippines

Dear Mr. President of Republic of the Philippines,

I would like to start my letter with all the acknowledgement about your services you have done in you services our country and with high hopes, you will continue rendering that good deeds. as a citizen of Republic of the Philippines and as a responsible Ilocana youth, I have some concerns about our country's future and ongoing current events.

First is Education. Our school in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur National High School. We have over population because of many students who enrolled especially on the seventh grader, until twelveth grader, and almost we have more or less 8,500 students who study in the said school. Because of these we had lack of classroom facilities like books, buildings, classrooms and equiptments, so we the nineth and tenth graders had the shifting of classes. Ninth graders starts to have their class at 6:00 am until 4:00 pm and for the tenth graders like me, starts their class at 10:30 am until 6:45 pm in the special classes but in regular classes, their classes starts at 12:30 pm until 6:45 pm. As I always see, the problem is the commuters that comes from distant places, adds to their expense and safety to travel at evening. It’s hard for us also not to have enough time for lunch break. Also it’s hard for us to have a straight classes thou it’s tiring and sometimes felt sleepy. It also quite stressing and pressuring because of many assignments and requirements. Second is Corruption due to not enough funds government schools. Third is Limited Healthcare support and supplies in the government. There are some of the scenarios like people who cannot avail supplies and proper benefits of in need in the health care system mainly the government sector. Fourth is Effects of social media to youths. We all know that almost all youths like me had their own gadgets like laptops, iphones, tablets, ipads, and smartphone that they are using in browsing the social media sites. Since “social media” hit the market, popular culture has become a major part of average teenager’s daily life. Fifth is Accessibility and dependence to technology (not use of library and books as reference in studying) Youth spending more time in surfing internet than studying Sixth is Abnormal changes of climate during school year. We all know that climate change is a change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns when that change lasts for extended period of time. Seventh is Garbage segregation. Almost all of elders and youths like me doesn’t know how to segregate their own garbage. We almost thrown everywhere our own garbage. So I suggest that we should have garbage truck that would roam around our province. And lastly, disposal Plastic usage in our province. That is also one of the problems of the people here in the Philippines. Many of elderlies and youths like me also don’t have discipline in using of plastics. Somewhat they always burn plastics even though it would destroy our nature. And that what my concerns are. Have a nice day!

Sincerely yours,
Leanne Jesse R. Rebullo

INDEPENDENCE DAY: A Day of Celebrating National Independence

One of the most significant dates in the Philippines' history is Independence Day because it marks the nations' Independence from the Spanish rule on 12th day of June, 1898. Filipinos celebrate it annually on June 12. We all know that Independence Day is the day when many people including government officials, employee, and students, participate in nationwide parades. However the main highlights is the police military parade in Manila headed by the country's incumbent president followed by speech and 21-gun salute.

In the Philippines, we have a long history of colonization and rule by foreign countries such as Spain, United States of America, and Japan. Some of these rulers were more kind and benevolent than others, but all of the time under foreign rule helped develop the unique culture of the Philippines that can be seen today. As far as I know, the history of colonization in the Philippines starts in the year 1521 where the Spaniards arrived and colonized the Philippines and day ruled for more than 333 years for the year 1521 until 1981. After the defeat of Spaniards in the Spanish-American war of 1898, Spain ceded its long standing colony to the Philippines to the United States in Treaty of Paris. In that year, Filipino forces had liberated much of the country from the Spanish on 12th day of June, 1898. Then for 43 years, Americans was the one who ruled the Philippines from 1898 until 1941. General Emilio Aguinaldo issued the Philippine declaration of Independence declaring independence from Spain. The earlier design of current Philippine flag was conceptualized by Emilio Aguinaldo during his exile in British Hongkong at 1897.

The first flag was sewn by Doña Marcela Mariño de Agoncillo, with the help of her daughter Lorenza and Delfina Herbosa Natividad (a niece of propagandista Jose Rizal)and it was displayed in the battle of Alapan on 28th day of may 1898.

“The Making of the Philippine Flag”
by National Artist, Fernando Amorsolo
The flag that we have today was actually an original design by the first President of the First Philippine Republic, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo y Famy. The general subsequently...

The said flag was formally unfold during the proclamation of independence on 12th day of june, 1898 in Kawit, Cavite.

During the Philippine Revolution, the various flags were used by the Katipunan Secret Society and its various factions and later, the katipunan had beeb dissolved, the Philippine Army and its civil government. With the establishment of katipunan, Andres Bonifacio requested his wife, Gregoria de Jesus, to create the flag of for the society.

De Jesus devised a simple red Flag bearing the society’s acronym KKK, with the white and arranged horizontally at the centre and this became the society’s first Flag.

Bonifacio stated the “K” in the middle of the sun stood for Kalayaan of freedom. One variation has the three K’s arrange in the form of triangle and some others used a red flag with only one K.

Andres Bonifacio was also a member of La Liga Filipina. He founded the KKK, which stands for Kataas-taasang Kagalang-galang Katipunan ng Anak ng Bayan (“Supreme and Honorable Society of the Sons of the Nation” or “Suprema Y Venerable Asociacion De Los Hijos del Pueblo”) also known as Katipunan, was a Philippine revolutionary Society founded by Anti Spanish colonialism Filipinos in Manila in the year 1892, whose, primary aim was to gain indepndence from spain through a revolution. The society has been organized as early sa january 1892 but may not have become active until 7th day of july of the same year, on the night when Filipino writer, Jose Rizal was to be banished to Dapitan earlier in the day. Founded by Filipino patriots Andres Bonifacio, Teodoro Plata, Ladislao Diwa, and others and initially, the Katipunan was a secret organization until its discovery in year 1896 that led to the outbreak of the Philippine Revolution. The Katipunan had colourful beginnings.

As a symbol of member’s loyalty, they performed the solemn rite of “Sanduguan” (blood compact), wherein which one signed Bonifacio’s name with blood.

And the last to rule over the Philippines was the Japanese in the year 1941 until 1945.The Japanese occupation of the Philippines occurred between 1942 and 1945, when Imperial Japan occupied the Commonwealth of the Philippines during World War II.
The invasion of the Philippines started on 8th December 1941, ten hours after the attack on Pearl Harbor.
